St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church celebrated St. George’s Day on Sunday, April 23. The procession was led into the sanctuary by a bagpiper and Scottish dancer from St. Thomas High School. Fr. Mike Stone preached about how St. George’s strong Christian faith saved his life serveral times and the stories surrounding his slaying of the dragon to save the King’s daughter and the town. The congregation was served bread at communion in the shape of a dragon, baked by St. Thomas’ Bread Guild. The Scottish bagpipes and dancing enhanced the worship service and led the congregation out of the church afterwards. This is another example of the exciting, inspiring, and spirit-filled Sundays at St. Thomas!
